To celebrate the 30th anniversary of New Zealand sea lions returning to breed on the mainland, we are gathering stories from across Aotearoa and the world!

You can join by submitting your own story. It can be about an encounter, someone you met over the joy of sea lions, or perhaps the time one went surfing with you!

Only your imagination - and a max of 300 words - sets the boundary. And you can submit a photo or small video to accompany it.

All accepted entries will be posted on our website. 30 of them will be featured in a celebration book for the next breeding season.

And one entry will receive a hand-carved pounamu depicting a mum and pup!
